Privacy & Analytics
This page explains, in plain language, what information this website collects and why. We run a community event — we are not in the business of selling or profiling visitors.
What we measure
To understand which parts of the site are useful to residents and to improve the Rath Yatra experience, we use two standard analytics tools:
- Google Analytics 4 — aggregate page visits, time on page, scroll depth, and which links are clicked.
- PostHog — anonymous interaction maps showing which sections and buttons people engage with, so we can lay out information better.
These tools record things like the pages you view, the buttons and sections you interact with, your approximate region, and general device/browser information. This data is used only in aggregate to improve the website.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or share analytics data with third parties for advertising.
- We do not build personal profiles or track you across other websites.
- Analytics are not collected on the internal admin dashboards or the live mandap TV display.
Donations & registrations
When you make a contribution or register for an activity, the details you submit (such as name, phone number, and — if you choose — PAN and address for an 80G receipt) are used solely to process your contribution, send your receipt, and share event updates over WhatsApp if you opt in. This is separate from the anonymous analytics described above.
Your choices
You can block analytics at any time using your browser's privacy settings, a tracker-blocking extension, or by enabling "Do Not Track". The website works fully without analytics enabled.
